Founder and partner Melissa McCartie brings 25+ years of classic and proven executive search skills in large and boutique firms to Avoca. Our recruitment methodology follows a three-step process which is a full-circle approach that enhances all areas of the search but focuses intently on the initiation to secure success and the final stage to ensure closure and retention.

Develop a communication plan from the start that includes continuous calibration of the search. Treat candidates like customers to enhance our client’s recruiting brand. Provide closing support throughout offer, onboarding, and retention. We stay in touch with candidates long after the start to help ensure smooth onboarding and a higher rate of retention.
We initially focus on a handpicked group of candidates that best fit our paraments and attempt to reach them multiple times before we extend our reach. Whether the search is national, regional or local will be determined with our client contact.
We assess candidates in a multi-step process with several Avoca Search consultants taking part in the process. We start with an initial assessment to determine if candidates meet the parameters of the search. The second step involves a full video or phone interview by a senior consultant that focuses on evaluating EQ to ensure cultural fit for the organization. The third step is reference checking with questions specific to the search. After step two we provide a full candidate summary and resume/CV to present a candidate. If the client is interested in taking the next step we conduct references and provide them in written form.
